This is some philosophy on religion from the Yogi, who dedicated great energy to addressing the global problems and solutions of world religion, and the contrast between eastern and western intellectual and spiritual orientation.
- This message is dedicated particularly to the faithful members of any religion. The first question is: Why particularly to the faithful members? There are two other groups: the passive members and the hypocrites. The passive group has got its membership by birth and does not bother about religious activities. If they do their religious duty, it is merely by usual mode of action, lacking inner conviction. The third category is the army of hypocrites. They may be very active, but their activity is solely a means to gain and to maintain social influence upon which they may get and catch economic-political power. For these latter two groups this message is nothing but a phrase and nonsense. The activity of the hypocrites is a means to gain worldly aims; the activity of the faithful group on the contrary is a means to gain spiritual enlightenment.
ONLY A BURNING CONVICTION, BASED UPON SPIRITUAL SELF-REALIZATION, CAN REFLECT ITS SPIRITUALITY IN THE SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR. ONLY FAITHFUL MEN CAN FORM THE LIFE-BLOOD OF A SOCIAL MASS-MOVEMENT, WHICH WILL CREATE A HARMONIOUS WORLD-UNITY.
This is why I dedicate this message to the faithful members of any religion.
- World-unity can only be based upon the basic principles of religion. What are the basic principles of religion? The basic principles of religion are the ideational truths about man, cosmos, the Absolute Being and their interrelationship, revealed during the introspection-act of prophets, avatars and sujanas. (Moses on mount Sinai, Jesus in the wilderness, Buddha under the Bodhi tree, Bima on the sea-surface, Mahomet during his Mi’rad). Regarding age, race, nationality and social positions these personalities differed much from each other and yet they all expressed the same idea: The Absolute Being called Allah, Mahadeva, God, Para-Nirvana, Ain Sof, Hyang Tunggal (Jav. : the One without a Second) etc, etc. It transcends nationalism and party-ideologies. Even Russia must allow its population to accomplish its religious duties, not withstanding K. Marx’s utterance: “Religion ist Opium für das Volk,” the best proof indeed that man is not solely a psycho-physical complex. There is a longing in man for something which cannot be satisfied by psycho-physical prosperity, nor even by that temporary psychological unity during a succeeded sexual intercourse! This something is longing for expression; it has driven psycho-physically and sexually- satisfied Siddharta to the woods in its search for compensation. This something is the spiritual ‘I’ in man; its compensation the spiritual truth, called God, the unity-principle in man that transcends individuality, family, party, state, nation, the world, the cosmos. This unity-principle is to be found in religion; and that is why World-Unity must be based upon the basic principles of religion.
- Bare belief must be replaced by introspection-act, in the footsteps of prophets, avatars and sujanas. Up till now the weapon of religion has been only belief and dogma. A belief is not a compensation of the spiritual ‘I.’ The spiritual ‘I’ must find its compensation in the spiritual truth. This spiritual truth can only be revealed by the act of introspection. It is time for every religion to create an introspection-system in the footsteps of its founder.
- There is an necessity to create a spiritual psychology. Spiritual psychology is the science of the “I” There are four complexes in man which are expressed in the single word “I”:
- The physiological I
- The psychological I
- The para-psychological I
- The spiritual I
The physiological “I” finds its compensation in physiological truths: air, food, drink, clothes, sexual antipode and home. The psychological “I” is the sensorial”I”including brain and nervous system’s activity and finds its compensation in the innumerable decided forms and qualities (according to prejudice and taste) of food, drink, clothes, sexual antipode and home. By the influence of the senses the physiological want becomes a psychological one.
The para-psychological “I” finds its compensation in magical truths during the introspective act of magicians. These truths are observed by magicians as light and colour, which form the corns of the physiological and psychological activities in man. The fundamental principles of these truths are Nyava (positive element) which is the life of the body-mechanism and Suksma (negative element) which is the life of the senses.
The spiritual “I” finds its compensation in the spiritual truth realized by avatars, prophets and sujanas. Its nature is super-cosmic and its synonyms are as follows: Kingdom of Heaven (Christian religion), Ain Sof (Jewish religion), Scaga (Islamic religion), Atman (Hinduism), Nirvana (Buddhism), Tao (Chinese religion), Sunyata (Javanese religion).
IT IS THE SOLELY NON-INDIVIDUAL UNITY-PRINCIPLE IN MAN AND THE REALIZATION OF IT THAT IS THE KEY TO MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND A LASTING PEACE.The most important step in our attempt to supersede present world-crisis is to create an introspection system which can compensate the spiritual “I” World-minded leaders have been crying for World-Unity and Peace; but they have not been supplying mankind with the indispensable means, to realize this unity-principle so that they may act in accordance therewith. Hence their voice has no echo, their measurements no influence. World-Unity and Peace cannot be based upon party ideologies nor on bare belief. They can only be based upon the realization of this unity-principle, so that it dominates man’s social behaviour.
There is an necessity to keep science on its right place. C.G. Jung says:
Science is sensorial. So, it has only authority upon psycho-physical phenomena and is competent indeed to decide the just and unjust of psycho-physical values. However, man is not only a psycho-physical ‘I.’ This psycho-physical ‘I’ is only a part of man’s personality! If this psycho-physical ‘I’ dominates man’s personality, it narrows his mind so that it becomes individualistic, instinctive, emotional and intellectualistic. The present social structure, arts, literature and more frequently occurring wars are the evidence. So, modern civilization moves rapidly towards its self-destruction. Is there no way out from this total suicide? There is a means to limit a still greater destruction!
But there is a very little chance of practicing this single means JUST BECAUSE IT IS REASONABLE AND LOGICAL!
Science is non-individualistic, non-instinctive and non-emotional. The logical consequence of this nature is:
THE PRODUCTS OF APPLIED SCIENCE MUST BE
NON-INDIVIDUALISTIC,
NON-INSTINCTIVE AND
NON-EMOTIONAL TOO.
IT MUST BE UNIVERSAL, SO IT MUST SERVE WHOLE MANKIND, AND NOT A PART OF IT.
IT MUST NEITHER SERVE A PERSON, A GROUP, A PARTY, A STATE NOR AN INTERNALLY DIVIDED UNITED NATIONS.
SCIENTISTS MUST SERVE WHOLE MANKIND AND MUST NEITHER BE SUBJECTED TO A PERSON, A GROUP, A PARTY, A STATE NOR AN INTERNALLY DIVIDED UNITED NATIONS.
THUS SCIENTISTS MUST BE UNIVERSALLY-MINDED.
IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO DEFEND THEIR UNIVERSAL MINDEDNESS,
THEY MUST FORM A UNITED SCIENTISTS ORGANIZATION
AND BOYCOTT MUST BE THEIR WEAPON AGAINST ANY DESTRUCTIVE PLAN !!!
There is an necessity to create a universal Life-Philosophy. Leading up to the Renaissance, during the Renaissance until the present, which has been influenced by the HISTORIC MATERIALISM created by K. Marx, there has been an ever widening schism between predominant Western thinking and the Eastern Wisdom – Philosophy. It reaches its climax in the conception of Sir James Jeans:
“For Sir James Jeans, the British physicist, whose work on radiation and stellar dynamics had brought him world eminence, the two fields are closely related, and he was convinced that philosophy has become less concerned with ourselves and more concerned with the universe outside ourselves.
The new physics, dealing with quanta, laws of radio-activity and phenomena on the atomic and sub-atomic scale, has revolutionized our conceptions of classical physics in its analyses of matter, and has created not only a new mathematical symbolism, but a revision of our ideas of time and space, determinism and free will.” (in The Scientific Philosophers.)
This saying by a famous philosopher like Sir James Jeans typifies the final split between eastern wisdom and western thinking. The East by way of introspection tries to release the psycho-physical and para-psychological “I” from its consciousness in order to reach the spiritual truth which underlies external phenomena.
The West, by way of logical thinking in relation to external phenomena, is lost in the innumerable diversities of this external phenomena.
The East, by means of psychological analysis of the individual self, can get an understanding of the universe.
The West by means of experiments with the imperfect physical senses, led by logic, has been reaching a fulfillment in present day science with the utilization of atomic energy as its culmination point.
In the East, with its meditation system, one can externalize the three dimensional relative phenomena (physical senses at work) from his consciousness and entering the higher dimensions, he is able to see non-physically, the ether filled with electro-magnetic waves, the structure of the atom and other ‘invisible’ beings.
The West with its experimental knowledge by means of the three-dimensional senses (relative, imperfect) led by logic can know and utilize only the effects of these higher dimensional entities.
Eastern Philosophy by way of introspection leads to wisdom, which has given birth to all religions predominating in the world today.
Western predominant philosophy with its vast knowledge of the three-dimensional world gives the West the material means to dominate materially the whole world.
THE EAST CAN GOVERN AND CONTROL ITS INNER SELF WHICH GIVE IT A PEACE OF MIND.
THE WEST CANNOT GOVERN AND CONTROL ITS INNER SELF; ITS MIND IS STILL IN A CONSTANT CHAOS WHICH IS REFLECTED BY THE PRESENT WORLD CHAOS AND CRISIS!!!
WORLD PROBLEM IS THE PROBLEM OF MAN,
AND IT CAN NEVER BEEN SOLVED IF THE PROBLEM OF MAN HAS NOT YET BEEN SOLVED.
IF WE TRY TO SUPERSEDE PRESENT WORLD-CRISIS, THE NECESSARY FIRST STEP IS TO CREATE A LIFE-PHILOSOPHY WHICH GIVES A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GOD, MICROCOSMOS (THE PSYCHO-PHYSICAL “I”, THE PARA-PSYCHOLOGICAL “I” AND THE SPIRITUAL”I”), AND MACROCOSMOS.
THIS LIFE-PHILOSOPHY MUST NOT BE A BARE INTELLECTUAL ENDEAVORING! IT MUST BE LIVED!! ITS METHOD MUST BE AN INTROSPECTIVE PSYCHOLOGY-PRAXIS
